They introduced belt drive motorcycles early in the 1980s, and these eventually became the standard for all Harleys. The company also brought out several new motorcycles in this decade, like the FXWG Wide Glide, the FLT, the FXR/FXRS Super Glide II, and the Softail, as well creating the V2 Evolution engine.
